Meet the Founder

Drew LaCombe

For some, success doesn’t automatically come from having everything in life to start. Rather, sometimes it’s how you face the less-than-perfect circumstances you were dealt and actively choosing a different outcome. And for our founder, Drew LaCombe, creating something without having it all to begin with is exactly his story. Never afraid of a challenge, founding MoveNation has been the most rewarding challenge he’s ever faced.

With over 10+ years of experience in the fitness industry, Drew got his start as a personal trainer, eventually working his way into management at fitness clubs throughout Massachusetts. Despite having no business background, he took the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of running a successful facility, helping several clubs reinvent themselves into profitable businesses.

But with an entrepreneurial dream to start his own business, Drew stepped away from management, turning his focus to growing his own clientele through personal training and group fitness classes. As his network grew, rather than being stuck in one place, Drew wanted to separate himself in the industry using the findings and knowledge from his real life experience, and began brainstorming how to make this a possibility. In March of 2020 when the pandemic hit, Drew saw this as an opportunity, not an obstacle. And in February of 2021, 11 months after being laid off, MoveStudios (now known as THE Studio) was born.

Overcoming obstacles and learning every step of the way, Drew has been on a journey to build MoveNation into the dynamic brand it is today. With his mind always set on the goal of making an impact, Drew strives to connect communities through positivity, unique experiences, and with a creative approach.

Behind the Scenes

A Massachusetts native, Drew grew up in Burlington and has spent most of his professional life in Boston, where he currently resides.

In addition to growing a dynamic brand, he is also growing his family — Drew and his fiancé Michele are recently engaged with a baby boy on the way.

As his business continues to grow, Drew is looking to relocate with his family to the north Jersey Shore, where he plans to replicate and expand MoveNation into the New York City, Long Island, and Jersey Shore markets.

Always seeking out opportunities to better himself and his business, Drew enjoys setting weekly networking goals to meet new professionals from near and far in order to expand his knowledge and network.

Recognizing the importance of separating life from the business, in his spare time Drew enjoys spending quality time with fiancé Michele and stepdaughter Grace, going on adventures, and staying active.
